Stay safe this November 5th
Firework tips
Only buy fireworks marked BS 7114.
Ensure you have a bucket of water, eye protection and gloves before starting your display.
Do not drink alcohol while setting off fireworks
Light fireworks at arms length and never return to a firework once it has been lit.
Keep pets indoors throughout your display.
Never thrown spent fireworks on a bonfire.
It is against the law to set off or throw fireworks in your street or a public place.
Do not set off fireworks after 11pm (Midnight on Bonfire Night)
Bonfire tips
Warn neighbours beforehand.
Build away from sheds, fences and trees.
Use only dry material.
Check the bonfire before it is lit for any possible hibernating wildlife.
Once lit keep a bucket of water nearby.
Once the bonfire has died down, spray with water to avoid embers relighting.
