Local Huddersfield MP Barry Sheerman is demanding to know if taxpayer funded bank Halifax is planning to make redundancies.

Mr Sheerman said "Lloyds employs around 6000 people in Halifax, many of whom live in my constituency here in Huddersfield".

Mr Sheerman added "I am receiving letters daily from people who work within the company, and they are telling me that they are deeply concerned about their job security.

The message coming out from Lloyds says everything is fine, but, the employees are telling me different and I want to know what plans Lloyds have for the Halifax".
