Barry Sheerman asked the Secretary of State for Culture, Olympics, Media and Sport what steps he is taking to protect children from exposure to pornographic imagery on television and the internet.
The Hon Ed Vaizey replied: ''Effective protection for children can only be achieved by parents, industry and the Government working together. Ofcomhas a specific duty in relation to broadcasting and the Government will continue to work with a range of organisations in promoting online safety.''
